She was a healthy looking 8 pound baby, but quickly it was apparent something was wrong.
The bottom part of her heart was open and a valve was small and would not open to allow blood to flow.
She was rushed by ambulance 160 hundred miles away to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV followed by a caravan that including her Mom, Dad, Grandparents, and other family members.
During the trip to Morgantown she became stressed and arrived in poor condition. The initial surgery to repair the hole in her heart had to be delayed.
